Tata closes in on deal to become first Indian iPhone maker

Tata Group, India’s largest conglomerate, is reportedly in talks to acquire the Wistron Corp factory in southern Karnataka state, which employs over 10,000 workers, including assembly workers for the latest iPhone 14 model. The deal of more than $600m could be completed in August.
